Reflections on the Rallies in DC

I spent the week in DC and yes I participated in the rallies on the 15th and 19th ... I have tried to keep "politics" out of this blog and for the most part have succeeded ... yet my participation in the rallies got to me ... soo ...

I am not a Democrat, Republican, Red or Green - I am an Independent, informed voter.

I do not believe in political parties as they exist today ... I think they are flip sides of the same coin doing the same thing in different ways: Bottom line they ALL are for increasing the size, scope and control of government over the free Citizens of the United States of America. Our founding fathers saw "political factions" as causing two major problems for our new country: Lack of options/ingenuity and a catalyst to corruption. In fact Washington appointed members of all the "political factions" of his day to his cabinet.

I believe that Political alliance should have no bearing on if a registered voter can vote in a government funded election. Political Party affiliation is the same as a membership to a country club or subscription to a magazine and nothing more.

No government on this planet is rich enough to do everything, for everyone, under every circumstance - all the time. This is sad, but true and we just have to accept it.

I believe in taking care of myself (if the government would only let me) - this is my individual responsibility and not anyone else's. This includes the right to bear arms.

I want clean air, land and water but not at the cost of making specific corporate and government entities wealthy and the rest of us poor.

I seek truth and am sick of the double-talk and "lying by omission" that exists in almost all aspects of the U.S. civilization today.

I believe in obeying and fighting for our Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights, in the context of the era in which they were written. Remember words like healthcare did NOT exist when these documents were written and other words like liberty, health, happiness, justice, federal, central, state, church, tax and tariff held different meanings than they do today.

I love free-enterprise, but do believe that there is good and bad in all things, including this. So when free-enterprise gets addicted to "Mega Bucks" with "Mega Profits", "Mega Quickly" it is the bad side.

I believe in freedom of religion, however not the "bending over backwards" for people who have no faith what so ever. Just as they have the right to not pray - I have the right to pray - both of us without any governmental hindrance or fear of retribution.

I believe medical professionals are the only authority when it comes to anyone's options on health and well being. No layperson or government has the needed knowledge.
